YACHT TOUCH-UPS & LOCALISED REPAIRS
Palma Yacht Solutions provides professional touch-up and localised repair work for yachts and superyachts in Mallorca, with a particular focus on painted surfaces, varnished finishes and finished timber.
The objective is to correct specific damage with the minimum intervention required and integrate the repaired area cleanly into the surrounding finish, with close attention to colour, gloss, texture and the existing coating system.
Impact Damage, Scratches & Localised Defects
Work includes impact marks, scratches, scuffs, chips, small areas of paint or varnish loss, wear marks and other localised defects on hulls, superstructures, components, furniture and varnished timber.
Each repair is assessed according to the material, existing system, extent of damage and the condition of the surrounding finish.
Paint Touch-Ups
Depending on the damage, the process can include sanding, surface correction, fairing or filling, primer, colour matching, blending and final topcoat application. Spray application can be used where the coating system and repair area require it.
Repairs can be carried out on professional yacht coating systems including Awlgrip, Awlcraft, Alexseal and DuPont, always according to the existing system, substrate and product compatibility.

Varnish & Wood Touch-Ups
Localised repairs can be carried out on cap rails, handrails, tables, doors, frames, furniture, panels, interior joinery and other varnished timber components.
The process can include local sanding, preparation, sealing, varnish build coats, gloss matching and brush or spray application according to the existing finish.

Typical Varnish & Wood Touch-Up Repairs
-
Knocks and scratches on cap rails, handrails and exterior varnished timber.
-
Localised varnish wear in high-contact and frequently used areas.
-
Small areas of varnish loss on edges, corners, frames and mouldings.
-
Touch-ups on tables, doors, frames, furniture, panels and interior joinery.
-
Local damage following removal or reinstallation of fittings and hardware.
-
Localised areas affected by UV exposure, salt and normal marine wear.
-
Gloss matching on high-gloss or satin finishes where the repair must blend into the existing varnish system.
-
Correction of visible previous repairs or areas with differences in tone, gloss or finish.
Colour, Gloss & Finish Matching
UV exposure, salt, polishing, use and natural ageing change the appearance of paint and varnish over time.
Repairs are therefore matched to the actual colour, gloss level, texture and condition of the surrounding finish rather than relying only on the original product code.
From a Touch-Up to a Larger Repair Area
When a very small spot repair will not integrate cleanly, the repair area can be extended.
Palma Yacht Solutions can organise masking, protection, access, platforms, scaffolding and spray application for larger areas where required by the project.
WORK IN PALMA DE MALLORCA
Work can be carried out onboard or on removed components depending on access and the type of repair.
Palma Yacht Solutions operates in Palma and at marinas, ports, refit yards and shipyards throughout Mallorca.
